Visual Arts: Monotype Printmaking
8-11th graders only
Fridays April 5-26, 4:15-6:30 PM
Students will explore the painterly process of creating unique one of a kind monotype prints. Monotypes are painted on plexiglass and transferred to paper through a traditional printing press. We will experiment with a variety of tools to apply and remove ink through the process. Q-tips, leaves, ribbons and other experimental materials will become our brushes. The process records every detail of the artists mark. Objects and portraits will be a starting point for our inspiration.
