Social Media Club Milwaukee has teamed up with
Visit Milwaukee and Best Place at Pabst Brewery
The business of fun is serious business. In the greater Milwaukee area
alone, tourism spending generated more than $2.3 billion in economic
impact in 2011. Competition is fierce as destinations look for new and
innovative ways to engage leisure travelers and attract groups. What
are the challenges that Milwaukee faces in bringing visitors here? How
do those challenges mirror those of other organizations trying to
recruit new talent, business, and energy to our community? How is
VISIT Milwaukee forming non-traditional partnerships and thinking
outside the CVB model to address those?

Capital Grille, two admission passes to the Pabst Mansion and two
admission passes to the Harley-Davidson Museum! Prizes will be awarded

3. Most tweets with #DearMKE hashtag

Bill Prange (@Bill_Prange) is the web marketing specialist at VISIT
Milwaukee. He’s responsible for overseeing VISIT’s interactive
marketing initiatives, including website content management,
e-marketing efforts and the daily management of its social media
profiles, along with supporting the team’s traditional marketing
Jeannine Sherman (@jeanninesMKE) is the director of public relations
at VISIT Milwaukee. She leads a team of PR professionals dedicated to
putting Milwaukee on the map as a destination of choice for leisure
and group travel. She is also the key contact at the Milwaukee Film
Office, serving as a resource for film makers who realize we’re more
than ready for our close-up. When not hosting press trips, pitching
stories or scouting locations, she directs VISIT Milwaukee’s social
Carrie Woods (@carrie_woods) joined the team at VISIT Milwaukee in May
2011 as Tourism Public Relations Specialist. She assists in media
relations from pitching travel stories to leisure writers and group
tour publications to hosting writers from around the country. Carrie
also assists on social media efforts and with the PR department’s
video and layout projects when needed.
