Ballet Arkansas was founded in 1978 as a non-profit organization with its roots tracing back to the Little Rock Civic Ballet. In 2009, the organization’s Board of Directors formed Ballet Arkansas Professional Dance Company. Each season, Ballet Arkansas offers a choreograohic competition, a regional touring production, educational programing which includes residencies, classes, and performances, an annual production of The Nutcracker, and a mixed repertory concert which features world premieres of newly commissioned choreography. Ballet Arkansas’ mission is to provide the state of Arkansas and the region with high quality dance performance while educating the community about dance.
