Vipassana Meditation is based upon the teachings of the Buddha, and has been revived as a secular form of psychological development. It raises into consciousness the full contents of the mind, and reorganizes thoughts and feelings in keeping with new fundamental insights about one's self and all of nature. These fundamental insights, in turn, are compatible with the scientific worldview that understands all things to be impermanent, changing aggregates that follow universal laws. Vipassana practice guides its practitioners towards a life of harmony, peace, and moral discernment.
