Inside our central and private Camarote (VIP Lounge) you will watch the day-long Brazilian celebration with a Lavagem (blessing) honoring Mestre Acordeon's 70th Birthday and the departure of his Project B2B Joga Capoeira (Berkeley to Bahia by bicycle) with Mestra Suelly.
With the purchase of a $100 VIP ticket, you receive:
- Access to a beautifully-decorated Brazilian Camarote like those seen in Brazil during Carnaval
- A private yet central space to watch over 15 mainstage performers of Brazilian music and dance
- Complimentary Brazilian Food

The festival will feature performances by:DJs Lucio K & Miles Green, Rebecca Kleinmann & Ian Faquini, Danda da Hora & Yabas Dance Company, Falso Baiano, Maracatu, Viver Brasil Dance Company, UCA Capoeira, Ana Laidley, Beto Guimarães, Damasceno Dance Company with Ashlee George, Wagner Santos, SF Batala, Renni Flores, Jorge Alabe’s Samba Rio Bateria and more!
Other festival features: 9-11 am Free Brasarte Dance Teacher Showcase, Children's Village, Beer & Wine Garden, Caipirinha Lounge, Food, Artisan and Community Booths.
Traditional white attire suggested.
Procession - all percussionists are welcome to participate, led by Badaro, Jorge Alabe and Wagner Santos
The party continues with a 8:00 PM a Special Evening Concert ($10 at door) hosted by CA Brazil Camp featuring the California Brazil Camp all-star Pagode band with Alessandro Penezzi, Moyseis Marques, Jorge Alabe, Carlinhos Pandeiro de Ouro and more!

When & Where
Brasarte is the Bay Area’s largest and most influential organization dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional culture and artistic expression from Bahia, Brazil. This vision is articulated through a diverse offering of dance classes and community-based multi-disciplinary events for all ages that involve many aspects of the essence of Brazilian culture. Together, with Capoeira Arts Foundation (CAF), they are housed at Casa de Cultura (a Brazilian cultural center) in Berkeley, CA.
