To truly understand Towkio, you just need to listen to the title track off his debut album, .WAV Theory. In just eight bars, the 21-year-old rapper from Chicago lays out the thesis of his album by developing his very own theory, which equates how a person controls his or her own thoughts to how the moon controls the waves. “Our thoughts, can shape the Earth/ Our love, can do the same,” he sings over a series of sterilized blips and bleeps. “The Earth, controls the moon/ So we, control the waves.”

“It’s spiritual, definitely,” Towkio tells Radio.com of his new album, which he released for free last week, over the phone from Los Angeles. “That’s the kind of dude I am though. We have this language that we communicate with, but for a lot of people, music is the only language that really exists. It doesn’t have any boundaries, it’s all through emotion. I don’t have to say anything, but you can feel what I’m trying to say through my music.”

Hailing from Canada, 21-year-old Robert Hughes aka Vincent is one of the strongest forces in the world of genre-defiant, boundary-pushing electronic artists. Fusing the hottest sounds across trap music, future bass and unique styles in between, Vincent is perpetually setting the trends in his space.

Self-releasing several original and remixes with individual play counts in the millions, Vincent has exceeded expectations on the remix front. His official remix of Alison Wonderland’s “U Don’t Know” was met with critical acclaim and community support, and versions of Flume’s “Some Minds,” Meek Mill & Drake’s “R.I.C.O.,” and Alessia Cara’s “Here,” became instant fan favorites.

Vincent’s original work distinguishes the producer’s appeal — burgeoning from the day one trap fans all the way up to new listeners. His breakthrough “Anax” became a summer anthem when dropped in 2015 and was followed up by “Only” and “Her,” a pair of cinematic trap efforts that proved worth the wait. Suddenly, original material from Vincent is among the most in-demand music across dance.

Primed to take the future by storm, armed with the talent and avant-garde approach to music that fans of today and tomorrow yearn for, Vincent is reinventing the electronic artist.

Very few artists have truly been able to adapt to the constantly evolving electronic music landscape. Fewer have been able to organically rack up over 5.5 million plays, blow the internet away on both original content and remixes, gather support from some of the biggest players in the industry, and make an appearance at the legendary Coachella Music Festival. Still, even fewer have managed to do all of these things before their 18th birthday. Andrew Luce, a Bay Area native, has shown the talent of performers twice his age, making waves with a distinct and well-executed sound design that consistently employs a powerful low end. Whether you’re dancing on the floor or trying to impress that special someone back at home, Luce has you covered.
