Share Veteran's Business Matchmaker Expo

Event Details

Assisting the needs of Veteran Owned Small Businesses, to help them grow, hire, and succeed, the NJ Veteran Business Outreach Center along with the Women's Center for Entrepreneurship Corporation will be holding a Veteran focused procurement event that will facilitate networking with representatives from federal agencies and large corporations with supplier diversity interest and SDVOSB set aside contracts. Breakout sessions throughout the day will provide SBVOSB and VOSB educational opportunities on how to increase their businesses through SBA partners and local resources, including: How to Do Business with the Federal Government, Financing, and RegisteringYour Business with SAM.

We urge your participation as an exhibitor to help showcase opportunities for Veteran Owned Businesses and to support those who have served.

The New Jersey Veterans Business Outreach Center

New Jersey VetBiz is a non-profit organization thatassists Veterans in translating their militaryexperience and/or other skills into business success. This organization serves all Military Personnel, Veterans, National Guard and Reservemembers, and their  families, that either live or want to do business in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands, and some areas of New York.

Founded in 2010, NJ VetBiz serves as the linkbetween entrepreneurs and the resources they need to start or expand their businesses. NJ VetBiz can help one grow their business by providing them access to business trainings and workshops,business plan assistance, capital researchassistance, networking opportunities, andprocurement technical assistance. NJ VetBiz also offers free one-on-one business counseling viain-person and telephone conferences, email, and site visits.

Located at The Rutgers Business School inNewark, NJ VetBiz works very closely with The U.S. Small Business Administration's regionaloffice, The New Jersey Small BusinessDevelopment Centers Network (NJSBDC), SCORE, The Women's Business Entrepreneurial Council (WBEC), and The G.I. Go Fund, as well as many other non-profit, small business assistance programs.

Good afternoon,

 

As the event approaches, please allow us to share some more information with you. Please note, the SAM registration class is a live computer class and you should be prepared to BEGIN the registration process in this class.

Here are the pre-class instructions:

Prior to attending the class, participants must do the following:

1.       Register for a DUNs # today (should have it in time for the class)  Click here:  http://fedgov.dnb.com/webform/CCRSearch.do?val=1

2.       Be sure to register the company name and address with Dun & Bradstreet (DnB) as it is shown on your tax returns and it should also match your state registration.  You can always update later through iUpdate (https://iupdate.dnb.com/iUpdate/companylookup.htm ) if there is a change.

3.       Bring the DUNS # to the class

4.       Identify and record all of the firm’s NAICS codes (use keywords to identify the proper NAICS codes.  Be sure to check whether it’s for a product, service or manufacturing).

5.       Bring the NAICS codes to class

6.       Bring business bank account information; e.g. name of bank, account number, phone number, address, etc.
