This orientation is intended to provide those interested in working in the oil, gas, chemical, or related industries with an overview of the training: TWIC Card, Fed OSHA 10 Card, CPR/First Aid, Worksite specific training.
The Certified Safety Attendant training opportunity is particularly noteworthy as it is directed specifically at our Advanced Manufacturing sector focus and targeted industries. Those who qualify for the training must be unemployed or underemployed, have right-to-work documentation, 18 years or older; pass alcohol, drug, and medical screening and pass a background check (no felonies on the past 7 yrs., Misdemeanors in the past 2 yrs., no violent felonies); and exhibit appropriate workplace behaviors.
This as an excellent entry point for those enrolled in or graduating from our Etech, Ptech, Mtech, welding and other programs, as well as those graduating from technical or vocational education programs.
When & Where
Develop and support programs to increase opportunities for veterans to obtain employment and job training, and assist veterans through the effective and vigorous implementation of a Veteran’s Employment Program. Veterans receive priority services from dedicated staff that provide employment and training services, a referral process for supportive services to meet veteran needs, promote employer interest in hiring veterans, and work with veterans’ service organizations.
