This class will be held at Stokes Nature Center in Logan. Class times are Tuesdays (June 17 & 24, July 1 & 8) 6-8pm, Thursdays (June 19 & 26, July 10) 6-8pm, and Saturdays (June 21 & 28, July 12) 9am-5pm. We've scheduled this class to accommodate those who work during the usual work week, and to avoid the 4th of July weekend. We will meet at First Dam (US 89 & Canyon Rd) in Logan, and then be shuttled to Stokes Nature Center or the field trip location each day.
From high alpine lakes and streams to the Great Salt Lake and unique temporary wetlands of the arid desert, Utah has a vast diversity of aquatic ecosystems that interact with each other throughout, and across, watersheds. Come join us while we explore these ecosystems and learn about how they function, the plants and animals that live there, and how they are managed. Class size is small in order to maximize your opportunities for learning and having fun!
Each Utah Master Naturalist Program module consists of 40 hours of instruction, at least 60% of which is spent in the field. Classroom and field activities will include instructor presentations, guest presentations on relevant resource issues, small group activities, and open discussions.
Due to the nature of the Watersheds class, we will be walking and hiking over some uneven terrain, often in wet environments. While we do our best to accommodate people of all abilities, please contact Mark at email@example.com if you have any concerns.
There is an option to receive three (3) USU credits for an additional recording fee of $90. All course materials will be mailed to you approximately two weeks before the class begins. This will give you time to read them before the class starts, if you wish.
If you are unable to join us for any reason, we can refund your registration fee. Please let us know as soon as you can. If registration is cancelled within two weeks of the start date of a class, a fee of $50 will be assessed to cover the cost of materials.
