Using Cassandra, Brisk, and Mahout to Manage Time Series, and Predict Future Events
Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (EDT)
New York, United States
Apache Cassandra + Brisk provides a very large data platform that allows you to ingest time-series data in realtime, and then provides the analytic capability to then process it efficiently. This is due in part to Cassandra's ability to produce extremely wide columns. You can easily shard your time-series data by time-periods, yet still keep it ordered for the most part.
Zach Richardson is the co-founder of Ravel, the sponsor of Golden Orb. The Apache licenced Golden Orb allows people to write batch algorithms for graph computations that can be distributed across 10's to 100's of networked machines.
DataStax (formerly Riptano) is the commercial leader in Apache Cassandra™, and is leveraging this next-generation data platform that evolved from work at Google, Amazon and Facebook to make it easy for customers to build, deploy and operate elastically scalable and cloud-optimized applications and data services. DataStax will be hosting a Cassandra training class on Monday the 19th.
