Hello to all those interested in joining the USC climbing club on this semester's kickoff beginners trip!
The USC Climbing Club will guide a full day of rock climbing at Malibu's Point Dume on Saturday, February 2nd. If you have a car and are willing to be a driver in our carpool, let us know. The cost of attending is $30 per person, $10 for drivers willing to carpool.
In order to join us on the 2nd, we require that you attend the pretrip meeting at 7:00pm on Thursday, January 31st at the climbing wall in the Lyon Center. If your schedule disallows you from attending the pretrip meeting on the 31st, send us an email, and we will try to schedule a make-up.
Note: Those who went last week do not need to go again
We appreciate your generosity. The difference in your ticket is reimbursement for the gas and parking fee that you will have to pay for. Your tickets cost only $10 instead of the regular $30. In exchange, you will be expected to help us carpool and drive others to and from Point Dume.
Refunds are available only if we cancel the trip or we can find a suitable replacement for you before the pretrip meeting. Refunds will be given at our discretion.
What should I bring with me?
Bathing suit and towel if you like to swim (the rock face is on the beach)
Lots of water
Enough food for the day
Do I have to be a USC student to attend?
How will I get to Point Dume?
We will be carpooling and relying on volunteer drivers. The drive should take around an hour.
Is the pre-trip meeting mandatory?
Yes, we will be making sure everyone is comfortable belaying, having you sign a waiver, and organizing the carpool.
What if I can't make it to the pre-trip meeting?
Contact us via email firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll try to sort out a time for a make-up.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. We look forward to the first trip of the semester and can't wait to meet all of you!
