Event Details

Hosted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the National Commission on Teaching & America’s Future (NCTAF)

The OECD TALIS Survey asked teachers and school leaders in 34 countries – including the United States – about the conditions that contribute to the learning environments in their schools, such as initial teacher education and professional development; what sort of appraisal and feedback teachers get; the school climate; school leadership; and teachers’ instructional beliefs and pedagogical practices. The findings give a peek into classrooms around the world and in the United States and provide powerful information about what supports effective teaching.

OECD and NCTAF are pleased to present the findings and, along with key partners, lead a discussion about how teachers can use these data to help improve teaching and learning in the United States.

Featuring Keynote Speakers:

Andreas Schleicher, Director to the Directorate of Education and Skills at OECD

Linda Darling-Hammond, NCTAF Commissioner and Charles E. Ducommun Professor of Education at the Stanford Graduate School of Education:
