Be Spartan Green will be hosting a seminar with guest speaker Brandon Knight. Knight works for Global Exchange where he developed the Green Economy Leadership Training program in Highland Park, Michigan, a program that equips participants with the knowledge, attitude and technical skills to create a career in the green economy.
At the event he will share his strategies for building a new economy in Michigan. From his experience working in the urban farming and renewable energy fields, Knight will explore scalable models and projects that are helping to change the landscape of Detroit. His vision includes plans on how we can solve economic inequity, unemployment and environmental degradation through community projects that build a more democratic society.

MSU Sustainability - Be Spartan Green
MSU’s Sustainability office and the Be Spartan Green initiative leads research, data collection, programming and outreach, and communications for the environmental stewardship initiative. A unit of Infrastructure Planning and Facilities, our office is comprised of MSU Recycling, the MSU Surplus Store, MSU Bikes, and the Sustainability administration. Sustainability provides resources to all Spartans to take action to be Spartan green.
