Upwork Career Day: How to Scale Your Online Business 3rd Edition

Upwork invites our vivid community of freelancers in Romania to an interactive 3hrs session with speakers who use and believe in the same mission and vision: that working remotely is the way to build a career.

When: Wednesday, 28th of September, 7PM (please be on time)

Introduction from Upwork Mobilizer Roxana Nasoi: Warm welcome of our quests and attendees, an introduction of our guests and speakers. Duration: 10minutes (07:05 – 07:15PM)

Panel discussion with Top Rated freelancers from our community: two of our community members, both top rated freelancers on Upwork, will give their insights and share their story with the audience. Duration: 15minutes per speaker (07:15 – 07:45 PM)

Meet Florin (about.me page: https://about.me/florinmaciuca). Florin has been a top freelancer on Upwork since the launch of our Top Rated program in spring, 2015. A web & graphic designer from Bucharest, Florin will tell us how he gets clients, how to position yourself in the online workplace and give us insights about the freelancer lifecycle.

Meet Alice (portfolio: http://creativepool.com/DesignWithAlice/projects). Alice is also part of our Top Rated community. While a bit shy, Alice has a great personality and enjoys being part of our group. She is proud of achieving everything so far through self-study and continuous self-growth. Alice is a designer and 3D artist with over 3years of freelancing experience. During the conference, she will share her best practices on Upwork, how her freelancing lifecycle has improved compared to her debut in working online.

Insights from International Guest Speaker: Continuing with our tradition, an international guest will share his journey and experience in freelancing. Duration: 30minutes (07:45 – 08:15PM)

About our guest: Meet Dillon Carroll. I met Dillon at a conference in Bucharest, early spring. He struck me as a young motivated guy (he’s just 25years old!). Learning that he’ll be in Romania again this fall, I immediately contacted him and invited him as a guest for our 3rd edition Career Day. Dillon lives in the US, but has always been fascinated with traveling, new cultures and languages. One of his favorite saying in Romania is “de neacceptat”. Currently, Dillon is co-founder of Levate, a startup that will enhance the lives of people in wheelchairs, by creating a small lift addition to the wheelchair. This will enable people to rise 50cm above ground, making it possible for them to face a face to face conversation, or to reach high shelves. Not only an entrepreneur, but also a Freelancer. Training on how to scale your online business from Roxana Nasoi. Time to get serious! Just kidding. But we’d love to share some insights from our US team. Duration: 50minutes. (08:35 – 9:25 PM)

Networking and time to wrap it up! Another round of networking and enjoying the company of fellow freelancers, followed by own free time. Make sure to bring business cards with you. Duration: from 9:30PM to 10PM, it’s up to you!
