Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic

Presented by: Professor Brett C. Stohs

What’s the Buzz? Innovation & Entrepreneurship!

Join us for a UNOPA Brown Bag from noon to 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at East Campus Union (Goldenrod / Sunflower Room). Professor Brett C. Stohs, the Cline Williams Director of the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic at the UNL College of Law, will give a presentation, Introduction to the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic. Professor Stohs will provide information about the Clinic, which operates as a small transactional law firm within the Law College. The student-based clinical law program provides free transactional legal services to early-stage startup businesses and non-profits across the State of Nebraska.

Professor Stohs will also provide a wide-angle view of innovation and entrepreneurship across campus, based on his role as a member of the Nebraska Innovation Campus Faculty Advisory Committee.

With the development of Nebraska Innovation Campus, there is a heightened awareness of UNL’s role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship through public and private partnerships.

Professor Stohs is a Lincoln Southeast and UNL undergraduate alumnus who received his Juris Doctor (cum laude) from Duke University School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Duke Law & Technology Review. He also received a Master of Public Policy from the Duke University Sanford Institute of Public Policy. He worked in private law firms in Washington D.C. and Lincoln, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and transactional law, before joining the UNL faculty in March of 2012.
