Uno Stradivari per la gente - A Stradivari for the people
Monday, June 30, 2014 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM (CDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Please join us for an extraordinary musical evening with Maestro Matteo Fedeli, "the man of the Stradivari,” before the world-renown concert soloist and founder of the Academy String Concert Orchestra of Milan returns to his native Italy at the end of a successful 2014 USA tournée.
In 2005 Maestro Fedeli, the only violinist in the world to have played 25 out of 60 of the Stradivari violins still usable today, embarked on his “A Stradivarius for the People” project, in an effort to bring the magnificent sounds of Stradivari violins to audiences worldwide. For this reason his violin concerts are free and open to the public; tickets are sold only when he performs for the benefit of a charitable organization like Italidea-Midwest. To this date, Maestro Fedeli has played for more than 400,000 people, including His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. The recipient of the “Il Campione 2008” prize, Maestro Fedeli was awarded the prestigious Knightly Order pro Merito Melitensi in recognition of his efforts in combining charity initiatives with great musical events.
All proceeds to benefit Italidea-Midwest, Ltd.
