Eric Sorensen shares his learnings from his work in Haiti with Carbon Roots International, an organization that encourages the adoption of sustainable char technologies in the developing world.

The founder of UnLtd USA, along with the two co-founders of UnLtd India and a few other entrepreneurs will be traveling from coast to coast to offer talks, workshops, one-on-one clinics and peer learning sessions – all of it aimed at helping you jumpstart your potential as a leader to start up and drive change and understanding how UnLtd USA can best serve the social startups of the country.

Richard AldersonRichard Alderson

Richard Alderson starts and invests in social ventures. He is the co-founder of UnLtd India, an incubator for social entrepreneurs in India; Journeys for Change, a social enterprise taking leaders to learn from the people changing the world; and Careershifters, which helps people find and start doing work they love. He's currently launching Impact DNA, a set of online tools to help social entrepreneurs and their teams make more impact in the world.


Eric SorensenEric Sorensen

Eric is co-founder and Executive Director of Carbon Roots International, a for-impact organization focusing on the developing world.  After the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Eric's career took a sharp turn away from the media world toward the world of international development, where he's been working at the forefront of the sustainable charcoal revolution.  His focus is on market-based solutions that provide access to renewable energy and increased agricultural productivity for the bottom of the pyramid.  Before learning the definition of social entrepreneur, Eric's past job titles included: bartender, farm hand, carpenter, blog editor, filmmaker, and sailor.  He grew up in Seattle, WA and lives in Oakland, CA.

Shalaka JoshiShalaka Joshi

Shalaka has worked across the non-profit and for-profit sectors in Asia, Europe, and the USA, with a strong focus on building access to finance, livelihoods, and markets in emerging markets like India. She began her career in social enterprise with the United Nations Children’s Fund where she worked on micro-planning and building public-private non-profit alliances. She later worked with GiveIndia Foundation where she advised business leaders on innovative strategic philanthropy models, and Ashoka, a global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs. Her private sector experience includes ICICI Bank and the IFMR Trust, an innovative for-profit social enterprise dedicated to building financial inclusion for low-income individuals and enterprises in India. Shalaka holds Masters degrees in International Development, Gender Studies and Literature from the University of Warwick, UK and the University of Mumbai, India. She serves on the Management Committee of the Harvard Business School Social Enterprise Alumni Association and as an Advisor to UnLtd, India, an incubator and launchpad for social entrepreneurs.

Zoe SchlagZoe Schlag

Zoe Schlag is the founder of UnLtd USA. Her own journey as a social entrepreneur was sparked by her work at UnLtd India, where she currently serves as a coach and mentor to startup social entrepreneurs. After experiencing the energy, passion and incredible results of working with social entrepreneurs at the earliest stages, Zoe was inspired to bring the UnLtd approach to incubation support to the United States. Zoe loves mountains, traveling and all delicious foods.

Pooja WarierPooja Warier

Pooja Warier is the co-founder and director of UnLtd India, Journeys for Change and Bombay Connect. She has launched three ventures in the space of 6 years and thrives on start-ups, traveling and dancing. Pooja was recently nominated as a 2013 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
