So much of Pittsburgh’s regional economic transformation has been enabled through our critical partnerships between private industry, higher education, and community development organizations. Pittsburgh has long been recognized as a showcase for such partnerships, producing diverse best practices from which other states and nations want to learn more. And now we get to take center stage again!
The UEDA Annual Summit in Pittsburgh will offer a unique national venue for participants to share best practices, identify emerging trends, and better understand the public policy context that influences university-driven economic development. We expect more than 250 representatives from colleges, universities, economic development organizations, private businesses, and federal agencies to attend. We need your engagement and support to help make the 2013 UEDA Annual Summit the best yet…because that’s what Pittsburgh does best…
I am writing today to invite you to join me in a planning meeting, networking reception, and Pirate Game on May 13, 2013. Your participation in any of the activities throughout the day will help guide our regional discussion and help advance efforts in planning for UEDA’s arrival in Pittsburgh.
Agenda for UEDA Annual Summit on May 13, 2013:
1:00 – 5:00 pm // Planning Meeting
Venue: Point Park University, 201 Wood Street
We will be discussing ways that our friends and regional community can get involved in the Summit.
5:00 – 6:30 pm // Networking Reception
Venue: Osteria, 100 Wood Street
We will be holding a reception to continue to share ideas and network, as a thank you for your ideas and leadership.
7:00 – 10:00 pm // Pirates Baseball Game
Venue: PNC Park
All work and no play does not make for a productive trip to Pittsburgh. Join us as the Pirates take on the Milwaukee Brewers in the Best Ballpark in America according to TripAdvisor.
All events are free of charge, but we will need to have an accurate count for planning purposes. We’d love for you to attend all three activities, but understand if your attendance is limited. We promise a thought-provoking discussion and engaging day.
If you cannot attend but still want to be involved please contact Rich Overmoyer at 216-200-8332 to discuss.
