UNF ACM Summer Windows 8 Hackathon
Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Saturday, July 13 at 9AM, the UNF ACM will start the UNF ACM Summer Hackathon. Joe Healy will be providing the theme of the competition based upon his random name generator; then he will provide brief presentations on the Microsoft APIMashes available and basic use of GameMaker for Windows 8 apps. Prizes will be given to the top in each category at the end of the day.
Students and alumni of UNF are encouraged to attend, we also welcome the local IT community to come and get involved.
You are encouraged to bring a laptop with Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012. We will be meeting in the School of Computing Lab, so there will be a limited number of computers available with these programs already installed.
The School of Computing is located at the south end of the UNF campus, across the Green from the Fine Arts Center Parking Garage. The event will be taking place on a Saturday, therefore a parking permit is unnecessary. The map has been removed as it was showing the wrong location at the UNF campus. A new map will be emailed to attendees the week of the event.
Breakfast is sponsored by Code on the Beach. Code on the Beach is a revolutionary and fun conference coming this summer to Atlantic Beach, FL. Catch top speakers from around the country like Microsoft's Scott Hanselman, and enjoy a weekend in a beautiful beachfront hotel. Registration is just $299, more info at www.codeonthebeach.com.
