About the Event
Dr. Huber will spend 45-minutes introducing GMOs – What are they? How did they end up in our food? How do they affect our health? After his presentation, we will open the floor to your questions to create an interactive dialogue focsued on what you need to know.
Who Should Attend
This community conversation is intended for those who have heard about GMOs and need to learn more. So, if you are already an expert and a Slow Food advocate please consider helping us spread the word by giving your seat to someone who needs to learn more.
About the Speaker
Dr. Don Huber has been a scientist studying plant diseases in the U.S. and around the world for the last 50 years. In addition to 35 years spent at Purdue University as Professor Emeritus of plant pathology, he has had a 41-year military career, evaluating natural and manmade biological threats. Dr. Huber also coordinates the “Emergent Diseases and Pathogens Committee” as part of the USDA National Plant Disease Recovery System under Homeland Security. He currently resides in Idaho and is visiting Indianapolis as a guest speaker for Slow Food Indy.
