If you're looking for a real functional fitness challenge, this is it. The Unconventional Training Challenge tests all aspects of fitness, including strength, conditioning, agility, and balance in both technical lifts and practical application.

We believe that the best ways to enhance your real-world capabilities is through Unconventional Training Methods like kettlebells, sandbags, heavy clubs, macebells, battle ropes, odd objects, and calisthenics. This is NOT just random "high-intensity training," this is the true application of alternative training implements developed by experts and practiced with core principles of proper form, progression, and systemization in mind. They are efficient, effective, and they encourage performance AND longevity.

We are looking for the Juggernaut; the person who can go far beyond an elite standard in a range of challenges and come out on top. Come see if you are the Juggernaut; even if you aren't, you will most likely find some weaknesses in yourself that you didn't know existed.

Competition Classes

There will be an Amateur and a Professional Levels for both men and women. You can compete in all the events to try and become the "Juggernaut" in both pro and amateur levels. There will also be prizes in each individual event.

NOTE: If you make money in any way from the fitness industry (i.e. trainer, coach, model, etc), you can't be in the amateur class. No one wants to compete with their trainer.

Unconventional Training Challenge Events

You can compete in any number events you want (there will be prizes for each), but you will only be eligible for the "Juggernaut" prize packages if you compete in them all.

There is one Practical/Application Test and five Technical Tests. While you can try to complete them without practice and technique, we highly advise you to try them before you compete:

This is a timed event that relates to situations in the real world that require different aspects of physical ability. Whoever completes all of the tasks the fastest wins this event.

The Strict Pull Up Max is a staple of law enforcement and military physical fitness testing. You will be required to complete as many Pull Up reps as possible, locking out your arms at the start of each rep and getting your chin above the bar at the top.

The Kettlebell Long Cycle is a primary Kettlebell Sport (Girevoy Sport) movement that will test your full-body strength and endurance. Men in the Pro class will need to use double 24kg kettlebells; amateur men will need to use double 16kg kettlebells. Pro women will use double 16kg kettlebells; amateur women will use double 8kg kettlebells. Perform as many Long Cycle (Clean & Jerk) reps in 5 minutes. If you set down the weight, your set is finished.

The 2-Minute Max Push Up Test is a staple of physical exams used by the military and law enforcement. Each Push Up rep must be performed with strict form, lowering your body each time to within 2-inches of the ground and locking out your arms at the top. The person with the most reps wins.

The Sandbag Turkish Get Up (TGU) is a dynamic, full body strength and conditioning exercise that will test every muscle in your body. Pro men will need to use 150lbs; amateur men will use 100lbs. Pro women will use 75lbs; amateur women will use 50lbs. The person with the most complete TGU reps wins.

During the Wheel Crawl, your feet will be secured to a wheel, forcing you to drag your legs forward with your arms. Your goal will be to get as far as possible in a 2-minute period. This test requires upper and core strength and endurance.

There will be a Juggernaut (Pro) Male Winner, Juggernaut (Pro) Female Winner, Juggernaut (Amateur) Male Winner, and Juggernaut (Amateur) Female Winner. Each winner will receive a variety of equipment, supplements, and apparel. In order to be considered for the Juggernaut prizes, you must compete in every event.

There will be prizes for each individual event as well, including workout equipment, apparel, magazine subscriptions, workouts dvds, and more.
