Event Details

The first United Nations community organized family-friendly day of peace. Festivities will include Indian dances, sitar performances, singing bowls, drum circles, and children's activities.  There will be an open Mic from 2-3 PM. Read a poem, sing a song, perform a dance or a play, or anything you have, themed around peace. The event will also include lay leaders from various faiths and spiritual inclinations. They will read from sacred texts of peace and more. So bring your kids, family, and friends because there will be something for everyone. Your soul will be enriched by meeting peace-loving people from all walks of life. Your body will thank you when you try international food and drinks. At 12 noon and in accordance with cities all over the world celebrating the UN International Day of Peace, we will stop to hold a moment of silence to honor the cessation of violence in the world ~ Peace.

We implement our mission through local and global initiatives that build the capacity of our more than 525 member groups and organizations, called Cooperation Circles, to engage in community action such as conflict resolution and reconciliation, environmental sustainability, education, women's and youth programs and advocacy for human rights.
