UC Personal Statement Workshop for Rising HS Seniors - Irvine
- Family & Education
- Heritage Park Community Center - Lounge, Irvine CA
With increasing competition among students trying to gain entry into the top UC campuses, the Personal Statement is becoming more important to distinguish the elite applicants from the rest of the crowd.
Come to this information-packed workshop to learn everything you need to know about crafting the perfect UC Personal Statement. Students will benefit by learning how to highlight their strengths to make themselves stand out, how to appropriately address special academic interests, such as engineering, as well as how to deal with perceived weaknesses, such as receiving a non-passing grade.
The workshop also includes writing exercises that will help students brainstorm ideas and turn them into working Personal Statement topics.
I am a UC admissions expert who has been guiding students to the top UCs, such as UC Berkeley and UCLA, since 2006. I graduated from UC Berkeley, spent a year in a PhD program at UCLA, and completed a college counseling certificate program through UCSD Extension.
To address the lack of online resources available to students and parents, I created AskMsSun.com to provide clear answers to those facing the challenges and uncertainties of the UC admission process.
When I am not answering student questions online, I volunteer with UC Berkeley and UCLA in support of their high school outreach efforts. I also volunteer at events sponsored by the Southern California alumni groups from both campuses, including alumni scholarship interviews.
