The Transparent Watercolor Society of America is once again holding its 38th Annual Juried Exhibition May 10 – August 10th, 2014, at the Kenosha Public Museum, Kenosha, WI. The Opening Reception will be held on May11th, from 1-4 pm, at the Museum. This is a FREE Event and is open to the Public. As part of the amazing Transparent Watercolor Exhibit, Members of the TWSA will be holding, Sunday Gallery Talks at 2:00 pm on May 18th and June 15, 2014, in the Exhibit. This exceptional exhibit offers more than just a beautiful view, it allows visitors and artists alike, the opportunity to learn more about the techniques used, guidelines followed, and the unique character of transparent watercolor, making it the purest form of water-based mediums. The entries displayed by the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, are submitted by talented artists from around the country, committed to preserving, promoting, and advancing the stature, of transparent watercolor as a major medium.
The Kenosha Public Museum serves as the perfect venue for this Annual Event. Set on the picturesque shoreline of Lake Michigan, the museum shares the scenic campus with the impressive Civil War Museum. Both of these aesthetically pleasing, beautifully designed structures, have a grand view of Lake Michigan, and are available for rental to the public for events, gatherings, and parties of all kinds.
Located just 25 minutes from Milwaukee, and 55 minutes from Chicago, the museums make the perfect destination for day trips, family trips, and field trips. The experienced staff and volunteers are trained to guide you through the museums with ease, encouraging questions and interactions, intertwining the interesting and entertaining aspects of the museum, with the importance and relevance of the chosen curriculum, and learning more about their local history. From great works of art, to a 360° Civil War Movie, priceless relics to the underground railroad, and flies to fur, these exceptional institutions offer amazing permanent exhibits, as well as many special exhibits, events, workshops and shows throughout the year.
A short and FREE Trolley-Car ride away, is the third of these Nationally recognized Museums, The Dinosaur Discovery Museum. A popular favorite among visitors, The Dinosaur Discovery Museum works closely with the Carthage Institute of Paleontology and the Institutes on-site laboratory, to provide the most current information and research on the study of dinosaurs. The Dinosaur Discovery Museum is the only Museum to exclusively focus on the link between birds and meat-eating dinosaurs. With fun and educational hands-on activities throughout the year, the Dinosaur Discovery Museum is the perfect place for family time, field trip time, or anytime!

The Kenosha Public Museum, located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, is a natural sciences and fine and decorative arts museum. Established in 1933, the Museum’s collections have grown to over 80,000, including 1,200 works in the fine arts collection. Exhibit programming includes world cultures, Native Americans, zoology, geology, fossils, and fine and decorative arts.
