Description

Why This Bootcamp

Organizations spend tens of millions of dollars on product development, much of which is spent on bringing new technology to existing products; millions more developing and executing go-to-market strategies based on decades old “best-practices”; and millions more optimizing the efficiency of existing internal business processes.

But we live in a new world and it continues to evolve. Are you confident you’re allocating your capital correctly? How do you feel about the state of your product and innovation portfolios and their go-to-market strategies. What’s your risk of failure?

What if you could allocate capital based on market evidence? What if you could kill bad ideas quickly? What if you could reduce the waste of time, money, resources and even creativity committed to new endeavors? What if you could reduce time to market?

How much would that be worth?

About the Bootcamp

In this two day bootcamp, you will become a part of a cross-functional team and learn the Lean Innovation process in a fast-paced, hands on environment where you’ll make real progress on real projects. You will learn cutting-edge innovation skills used by Silicon Valley startups and corporations like GE and Google.

From new product introductions to internal process reinvention, the Lean Innovation methodology has been proven to unlock new growth opportunities while eliminating wasted time, money and talent.

On Day 1, you will begin by developing customer empathy by interviewing existing and potential customers. Using the insights gathered in this stage, you and your team will begin to zoom in on who exactly your customer is, what pain points they have, and what sort of solutions you can use to create new value for your customers, and thus for your business.

On Day 2, you will learn how to identify and test the assumptions that are most critical to the success of your new idea. The process of experimentation you’ll be learning will often elicit insights that typically take months to learn, in just a matter of hours. You will continue to run experiments that will help you discover evidence that will either validate your idea, or expose a greater opportunity that has a higher likelihood of success in the market. We will conclude the workshop by having each team present their journey and learnings to a team of judges.

After the workshop is done you will not only leave with incredible insight about your customers and ideas, but more importantly, you’ll leave with a new framework and toolkit for unlocking new growth and by being able to gain new insights, move faster and act bolder than you ever thought possible.

What you will be able to learn and apply to your job or current project:

  • How to build deeper understanding of what customers really want.

  • How to quickly brainstorm and prioritize potential solutions to test.

  • How to design experiments that lead to rapid learning.

  • How to quickly turn insights into action that drive project impact.

Projects that are a good fit for this approach:

  • Any project that is in it’s early stages of development/scoping that serves customers, potential customers, or even internal employees.

  • An idea that you’ve had that could create new value for customers, potential customers, or employees.

FAQs

  • Do I need to attend for both days? Yes. Getting to breakthroughs takes time, and the concepts you will be learning during the duration of this workshop work best when practiced with each other.

  • Do I need to come with a project or can I come to learn the skills and work with a team that already has an idea/project? Yes, in order to take advantage of this bootcamp it is highly recommended that your team works through a real problem that you are trying to solve.

What Past Attendees Have Said

W. Lincoln DeMier, Life Product Strategy and Performance Manager

The Lean Innovation Bootcamp was an outstanding investment of time that will pay dividends for years to come. This strategic framework provides a path to customer feedback in real time. Rapid innovation requires a test and learn approach which is at the heart of lean innovation. The life product management team will be more efficient as we bring customer driven solutions to market as a result of the lean innovation bootcamp.

Morgan Conom, Life Product Management

The Lean Innovation Workshop was two-days of AWESOME! The experience provided me with tools to solve larger customer problems that traditionally took months of time and resources to investigate. The entire process allowed me greater understanding of customer’s needs. At the end, I left feeling inspired. If given the opportunity, I would participate in the workshop again, as it gave me a chance to see the experience through the customer’s eyes.
