Event Details

Cap off your Internet Week fun by joining Angelwish and Social Media for Social Change (SM4SC) for an 8-team double-elimination charity Wiffleball tournament.

All proceeds from this event will benefit Angelwish. Created in 1999 with the mission to provide the public with an easy way to grant wishes to the millions of children that are living with HIV/AIDS around the world, Angelwish acheives its mission by ensuring that 100% of individual donations are used for program services and that those funds are extended, where possible, to incorporate an educational component giving young people a hands on lesson in philanthropy.

If you just want to donate another amount to Angelwish, please select the "I want to donate" option and enter the amount you'd like to donate.

Rules

We'll be playing "clean" wiffleball rules (no juiced bats or balls) and each team will play at least 2 games during the tournament. Bats, balls and water will be provided. Unfortunately, alcholic beverages are not permitted as this location is a NYC public Park.

Teams

When buying your ticket, please specify if you have a preferred team you'd like to play for (this information will not be made public until event time).  Anyone not on a team by game will be "drafted" onto a team to play a few days before the tourney begins.  Make new friends!

About Social Media for Social Change (SM4SC)

It all started with a single blog post by founder Gradon Tripp in the middle of 2008, but now Social Media for Social Change (SM4SC) serves as an example of how social media can bring together people from all around the world together to change society in a big way. The premise of SM4SC is simple — to take all the connections made through social media, and put them together to host first-class fundraising events happen "in real life". SM4SC's fundraisers benefit local charities in cities around the United States.
