Cultivating Capriciousness,  Monday 4/22 |  7 - 10pm | Taught by Jon Morris

Discover your trickster, your mischievous child, and the ability to captivate an audience by involving them in the game of theatre.  Morris merges Lecoq's method of Le Jeu, Pantheatre's techniques of Choreographic Theatre, and a little Balinese Clown. Warning: these techniques are known to improve many aspects of life. No theatrical training required.  

Shakespeare, Tuesday 4/23 |  7 - 10pm | Taught by Will O'hare

Will O'hare demystifies Shakespeare's language and offers students a simple approach to heightened text that can be used for auditions, cold readings, in preparation for a role. Please come to the class with 1 one-minute monologue or 10 lines of text to present.

Stage Presence, Wednesday 4/24 |  7 - 10pm | Taught by Jon Morris

"I couldn't take my eyes of you."  Learn how to become irresistible to watch on stage.  We explore techniques of developing presence for performance on and off stage.
No theatrical training required.  

Audition Intensive Thursday 4/25 |  7 - 10pm | Taught by Will O'hare 

This class is an opportunity for working actors to present their audition pieces for feedback. Actors will hone their skills and master the art of the audition monologue. Please come to the class with two one-minute monologues to present.


Jon Morris has taught around the world including Master Classes at Harvard, NYU, PACE.  He was a guest artist at Vanderbilt University and a 2003 Tennessee Williams Fellow at the University of the South.  Jon has performed and created with Fuerzabruta, Cirque du Soleil, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Patrice Chereau, Robert Wilson, Tina Landau, Jay Scheib,  Aszure Barton, Ken Roht's Orphean Circus, Spymonkey, Diavolo Dance Theatre, Philippe Gaulier, The Guthrie Theatre, The MET.  He is the founder/creative director of The Windmill Factory, “manufacturing the sublime,” a Thomas J. Watson Fellow, 6-time All-American Springboard Diver, with a B.A. from The University of the South, Sewanee. www.thewindmillfactory.com  

Will O’Hare is a director, actor, photographer and educator based in New York City. Selected Directing credits include: Assistant Director, Bullet For Adolf (Hart House Theatre, Toronto); The Great American Trailer Park Musical (Toronto Premiere), Macbeth (Toronto, Dora-Award Nomination), Twelfth Night (Toronto, Dora Award Nomination). Will has worked for the Classical Theatre Project in Toronto, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Broadway productions of The History Boys and Mary Poppins. He is a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, an Irene Ryan award winner, as well as being nominated for the Sir John Gielgud Fellowship in directing, along with two Dora Mavor Moore Award Nomination.
