We invite you to join TurkishWIN at Herrick, Feinstein LLP in New York on Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

We will be presenting a talk with Dr. Gulden Turktan, President of KAGIDER, entitled

"mWomen: Women's Movement in Turkey - Empowering Women with the Usage of Technology, Work and Entrepreneurialism"

with networking to follow.

KAGIDER (Women Entrepreneurs' Association of Turkey) is one of the leading women's NGOs in Turkey that promotes the mission of supporting and empowering female entrepreneurs both economically and socially.

Dr. Gülden Türktan is the President of KAGIDER. She is a graduate of TED Ankara High School. After graduating from the Bosporus University Business School with B.A. and M.A. degrees, she received her postgraduate degrees from New York University and Marmara University. She holds MBA, M. Phil and Ph.D. degrees.

Her career started as a research assistant at New York University. She later joined a textile conglomerate Narin Holding as Head of Investments. She also worked as a Board member for a hotel chain, Martı Resorts. She spent 18 years in various executive positions such as CFO, head of HR, head of Industrial Relations, Head of Legal Affairs & Compliance, and Head of Sustainability and Investments in the local organization of ABB, a worldwide Swiss Swedish engineering company, She worked as Deputy Country Manager, Board Member and Vice Chairperson of ABB Turkey between 1990 and 2008.Dr. Türktan is currently the General Manager of a Swiss company in Turkey. She is also the Chairperson of Sandvik’s local organization in Turkey. She owns a boutique hotel, Gliss Hotel & Spa, in Bodrum, a city in southern Turkey.

Dr. Türktan is Head of Work Council of TUSIAD for Employment and Social Security System. She is one of the founders of Turkey’s Women Entrepreneurs Association KAGIDER, of which she is currently the President. She also serves in OECD’s BIAC ELSA as Vice Chair. She has also served in the International Investments Association (YASED) of Turkey for four years as Board member and Vice Chairman of the Board.

Dr. Türktan has given numerous lectures, speeches and presentations in Turkey and around the world on entrepreneurship, basic structures for success in the corporate world, profitability, sustainability, ethic values and leadership on behalf of numerous international organizations.

Dr. Türktan is married with one child.
