Share TTG - ARTIC Site Tour

Event Details

The ASCE OC Transportation Technical Group (TTG), in conjunction with the City of Anaheim, is sponsoring a tour of the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, otherwise known as ARTIC.  This tour will take place on Tuesday, March 12th and will include both a luncheon at JT Schmidts, along with a tour of the early stages of construction of the facility.  Please reserve early as space is very limited.

Rudy Emami, Capital Programs Manager - Engineering for the City of Anaheim, will be the speaker for the luncheon event and Michael McAlpine, STV Vice President, will be the second “speaker/tour leader.” 

The event timing is:
• Check in / networking 11:15-11:45 am
• Lunch 11:45-12:15
• PowerPoint and questions 12:00 to 12:30
• Walking to the ARTIC tour site 12:30 -12:45 pm
• ARTIC site tour 12:45 to 1:15 pm
 
ARTIC and JT Schmidts share a parking lot and are within walking distance.  Thus, following lunch and the PowerPoint presentation, participants will simply walk over to the tour.

Since ARTIC is an active construction project, personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required for those who would like access to the site (eye protection, safety vest, hard hat, boots). Please note that just “boots” will be required, not “steel-toed” boots.  Those attending the tour are required to provide their own PPE.  To accommodate those who cannot provide the required PPE, the tour will also include a perimeter tour of the ARTIC construction site as well.

Rudy H. Emami is the Capital Programs Manager - Engineering for the City of Anaheim, where he manages all services and activities of the Public Works Design Services section including the scoping, planning and design of various complex public works projects including major regional transportation centers, highway interchanges, street improvements, storm water drainage, and sanitary sewer systems. 

Michael McAlpine, STV Vice President, is leading the Program and Construction Management team for the new Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC). With more than 27 years of diverse experience in complex building and development projects, he brings a hands-on management approach to representing General Contractors and Owners in areas such as financial, program, design, jurisdictional review, bid and award, and construction oversight.
