Join a team of developers and a bunch-o-startup folk this weekend for an all day Hackathon hosted by Trove, the solution to your user content API needs.
What is Trove and why do I care?
The way API development works now: Instead of focusing on building and maintaining your apps, you waste more time mucking about with constantly changing APIs.
The way API development should work: You focus your time on what’s important to
you and let Trove do the rest.
Imagine you could query across all of a user's content without needing to care which services you're talking to, what their recent API changes were, or whether you've even heard of the service before. What would you build?
Coming to this Hackathon means you’ll get to take ownership of where we take
this technology – and you’ll get to build something awesome in a day.
Basics of the Hackathon
After a quick and dirty demo of how Trove works and how you can build apps for it, we’ll break out into teams and start work on, well, whatever you want to build. The nature of Trove, however, means that your team’s app will be able to mashup with your neighbors’ work.
We’ll supply the free WiFi, food, drinks, snacks, and networking with some of the top NYC developers. Only thing you need is your laptop.
Right now there are Python, Ruby, PHP and HTTP REST APIs for Trove. If you’re looking for ObjC or some other bindings, swing by and let us know so we can build what you want!
Trove itself is built in Python/Django.
