Intro to 3D Laser Scanning Workflow Workshop Overview:
Scanning is ideal for MEP contractors who are looking to create their own 3D models from scan data, collect as-built information, perform visual clash detection with existing conditions, or implement QA/QC requirements.

Join us for this half day introduction workshop and brewery tour to answer your questions on 3D laser scanning and point cloud registration, including:

  1. How does laser scanning replace the traditional means of collecting as-built information?
  2. What are common use cases for MEP contractors and 3D laser scanning?
  3. What are the differences with the hardware and software components?
  4. How do you take 3D laser scans and translate to popular CAD/detailing solutions?
  5. How much training is needed to get up to speed and use the complete 3D laser scanning solution?
  6. How can 3D laser scanning help you with reducing man-power when collecting as-built data?

The workshop will help you understand these questions and more and discover how you can incorporate 3D laser scanning into your daily operations.

Trimble MEP

Beginning in early 2009 with the acquisition of QuickPen and continuing with the acquisition of Accubid and Plancal, Trimble's MEP division began to connect key workflows between estimating, design, fabrication, and installation.

Now an integral part of the Trimble Buildings group, the Trimble MEP division is made up of over 300 employees in 13 locations across 3 continents.  Leveraging the heritage of Trimble's expertise in positioning technologies for mobile workforce productivity with key domain knowledge in the sub-trades, the division has deep resources to meet the large and small MEP customers needs.

The formulation of the Trimble Buildings group is the perfect time to align the QuickPen and Accubid brand's with the Trimble brand.

Everything our customers love about the QuickPen and Accubid products and support will remain the same. The only change is the transition to the Trimble logo and branding elements. This is an exciting time for our customers and partners alike and we will do our best to communicate every detail of this transition throughout 2013.
