In September 2012 a remarkable worldwide Thumbs Up Movement began as a way to honor Lane Goodwin and the positive attitude he maintained during his two and a half year battle with Rhabdomyosarcoma. The movement brought global awareness to childhood cancers, the leading cause of death by disease for children under the age of 15. Approximately Thirty-six children and adolescences are diagnosed with cancer every day, yet research for childhood cancers remains underfunded. Lane believed that the awareness that the Thumbs Up Movement brought to childhood cancer would lead to a cure. The Foundation remains committed to fulfilling Lane’s mission.
To support childhood cancer research through funding and advocacy while empowering families battling childhood cancer by providing education, financial assistance and a volunteer network.
