Trends in UX: Drupal 7 Revealed
Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (EDT)
New York, NY
Join IxDA and Kelly Bell as she presents a product called Drupal Gardens. This product allows folks to get up and running on Drupal 7 within - literally - 15 minutes or less (depending on your needs). The interface provides a point-and-click, fully customizable, fully portable entry into Drupal 7 without needing to have a background in programming or Drupal.
As a UX designer that is almost always building Drupal sites, Kelly uses Drupal Gardens as a ready-made interface to work and experiment with. The product is not intended to replace rapid prototyping tools like Axure PR, but it is being used for this purpose more and more. Kelly uses Drupal Gardens to reduce the need for requirements writing and, in some cases, replace it all together.
Why Should I be Interested in Drupal?
Drupal is going to be receiving a lot of attention in the digital community this year with the release of Drupal 7. Already the fastest-growing CMS in the world last year, it is expected to take even more market share this year. This means that more and more of our clients will be asking for Drupal by name. The UX community needs to be ready. As UX professionals, we need to be aware of emerging technology trends, and Drupal is a rising star that is here to stay.
