Love146 Long Island Taskforce
The Love146 Long Island Taskforce was founded in 2007 by a group of friends on Long Island who felt the need to contribute to something bigger in life. To date, the Taskforce has raised approximately $250,000 towards Love146 and the aid of victims of human trafficking. They currently also partner with Restore NYC, International Justice Mission, ECPAT-USA, and the New York Anti-Trafficking Coalition. They meet bi-weekly year round and host major fund-raising and advocacy events to create awareness of child trafficking on Long Island. They have done guest speaking at churches, synagogues, high schools, colleges, concerts, and more. They have also lobbied in their local and state legislators offices, written letters to Congress, and have contacted their local hotels to train them on how to identify the issue. The group has maintained a large number of members over the years and continues to thrive.
You can ‘like’ the Love146 Long Island Task Force on Facebook or follow updates on Twitter and Instagram: Love146LI_NY. The group is always looking for new members. If you are interested in volunteering to be a voice for the voiceless or you would like a Taskforce member to do some guest speaking, email them at email@example.com.
