It is rare that a true, organic frenzy, not manufactured by hype, happens in the music industry. But that is exactly what is happening for country music’s the Travis Minnick Band in West “by God” Virginia (as they would say).
The band, led by the charismatic, prolific songwriter Travis Minnick came together in the summer of 2012. An incredible group of musicians, who have been playing together for most of their career, rounds out the talent of the band that fans can’t get enough of. With Donny Carmen on drums, Eric Houdersheldt on bass and Cody Bittinger on lead guitar, they are delighting their growing fan base with authentic country music. “We have all been in different bands that broke up for one reason or the other. We decided one afternoon to all get together in a garage in the middle of West Virginia with Travis to see how it felt,” Carman recalls. “We all knew almost immediately that it was magic and we have been playing together ever since.”
What they never could have predicted is how quickly the word spread, and offers to play started pouring in. Independent label GalaMusic Group from McLean, VA, stepped in to handle this whirl-wind that had developed, and make sure that the band was not taken advantage of, while creating the tools they needed to be successful.
The Travis Minnick Band is turning their attention towards making their first album produced by a well-known country music producer. Now that their social media is in place and they are playing in larger venues (and selling them out), GalaMusic Group’s management feels very strongly that the Travis Minnick Band is moving in the right direction. The band agrees; they have quite a well of songs to draw from as Minnick is nothing short of a songwriting machine, having more than 65 original songs in his catalogue. “It’s a good problem to have,” GalaMusic Group management also agrees. “We have so much excellent material from which to choose as we make decisions about the record.”
Minnick himself is pretty low key about all of this happening around him. “I just want to get on the road where I can do what I love every night. Everyone else can take care of all this other. I love to write and perform. Keep me doing that and I am happy.”
“Not long ago while touring, an executive of GalaMusic Group received a call from a city official who feared the size of the crowds for a Travis Minnick Band show, and asked us to stop selling tickets! That was a new one for us.” It is safe to say that the Travis Minnick Band and the accompanying excitement around them is a great one for most!

Official home to Owen Schmitt and The Davisson Brothers Band. The saloon not only represents each of them but the entire state of West Virginia. The entire saloon is comprised of barn wood and memorabilia from all over the state. Some already say its a museum in its self. A must see attraction!
