Event Details

The "natural hair" movement is in full effect, and as stylists we need to be educated on the basic principals and fundamentals of natural hair care. Transitioning 101, is an educational hair care and styling class with a concentration on transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair; and we will learn how to achieve transitioning styles for clients starting on this journey. The basic styling tips and practices that will be covered will enhance your clients transitioning process and make them more comfortable with their decision.

This class is for stylists and cosmotology students only. Discounted cosmetology student price available (must bring proof of current student status).

Dee Carrington

Dee Carrington has had a passion for the hair industry for most of her life.  She has been licensed for more than seven years.  In that time she has mastered a wide range of hair techniques including color, cutting, and becoming a certified Ouidad stylist, specializing in the infamous Ouidad "Rake and Shake" and the "carve and slice" technique. These tools have given her the opportunity to meet the needs of her multicultural clientel. Dealing with hair in its different forms can become challenging, however for Dee it is seen as a clean canvas to create something completely artistic

Dee believes in continual education and strives to stay at the forefront of her field. Having the opportunity to be a platform guest for a well know product line, allowed her to find her passion to become an educator. Being a product of a Cosmetology curriculum, Dee realized the lack of information on "Natural Hair". Having one chapter on braiding was not enough for her. All stylist should receive the proper information on how to care for all hair textures.

Dee desires to use her skills and knowledge to help further the cosmetology education system. Her motto is "Whatsoever your hands find to do, do it with all your might"
