://FRIDAY 10/11/13 (features:)

09:30am-12:30pm Workshop: The Art of the Sticky Pitch
Presented by Tricia van Klaveren

The TransMedia FinanceLab (TMFL), in partnership with the HUB Media Lab/SF School of Digital Filmmaking, San Francisco, presents a powerful educational and interactive workshop about getting your film and transmedia project funded.

Starting with “The Art of the Sticky Pitch™” and ending with “The Art of Finance
Design™,” these two components of “The Sticky™ Workshop" are a two-day
intensive and immersive learning experience that covers the essentials of film
and transmedia finance.  This Workshop covers two essential areas: how to pitch
to a financier and how to get your film/transmedia project financed.  Hosted and
led by Tricia van Klaveren, the Sticky Workshop takes place during the 2nd
Annual Transmedia Film Festival in San Francisco.  There will also be
phenonmenal expert guest speakers -- stay tuned.

You will leave The Sticky Workshop™ with a clear sense of how to pitch your
project to the right financier and practical information for designing the funding
plan for your film or transmedia project.

The workshop will be led by Tricia van Klaveren, an expert film financier,
executive producer, producer, former international film sales and financing
executive, and attorney by training. Ms. van Klaveren successfully practices what
she teaches. She has personally raised funds for many film projects throughout
her career. Presently,  Tricia van Klaveren is the founder & principal of  Fully
Loaded Pictures (f.k.a. Mosaic Film Group), and has credits including: “I’ll Sleep
When I’m Dead” (Clive Owen), “The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things” (Jeremy
Renner), “Edmond” (William Macy), and “The Killer Inside Me” (Jessica Alba) and
London Fields” (Jim Sturgess, Amber Heard, Billy Bob Thornton) currently in
production in London and co-founder of the new TransMedia FinanceLab a film &
media virtual incubator and production community.

The Art of the Sticky Pitch™ Workshop

This workshop explores The Art of the Sticky Pitch™.  Included will be examples
of actual pitches and a detailed examination of their structure, as well as a
breakdown of the success factors of a winning Sticky Pitch™. You will be given
the opportunity to learn key Sticky Pitch™ techniques, and then practice and
apply what you have learned to create your own Sticky Pitch™.

Pitching is one of the most essential skills for producers and film/transmedia
entrepreneurs. Pitching is an art that can make the essential difference between
getting your investor on board or not.  Select projects that participate in the “One Minute Sticky Pitch™ Session” will receive expert feedback on their creative vision and project elements.  Participants in the Art of the Sticky Pitch™ will also be invited to attend a follow-up “Next Level Intensive” (limited to 4 participants) on how to take their project to the next level.

The Art of the Sticky Pitch™ Workshop covers:

Session 1
I. The Definition of a Sticky Pitch™

1. The concept of a pitch -- how to “hook” your investor.
2. The three types of pitches: High Concept, Elevator Pitch, and the One Minute
Sticky Pitch™.
3. What makes a pitch “sticky”?  The Psychology of the Sticky Pitch™.
4. How to build a winning Sticky Pitch™.

  • How do I start? (How do I create my Sticky Pitch™ “Vision” Statement?)
  • What do I need?  What are my project goals & requirements?
  • What are the three things that motivate an investor to invest in my film & transmedia project/extensions (IP - app, ARG/game, platform)?
