For 1900 years Trajan’s Column has endured as a monument to the Roman Emperor Trajan (AD98–AD117). The capital letters inscribed on its base have also served as a models for the evolving Latin alphabet. Our speakers will examine the column from a variety of cultural, historical and typographic perspectives.
