In Traditions, dancer Ganesh Vasudeva explores Bharatanatyam within and outside its traditional boundaries. From inner precinct of temples and courts, south Indian classical dance form Bharatantyam moved onto theaters around the world while staying true to its origins. Ganesh traverses this journey of Bharatanatyam through traditional and contemporary repertoire. Ganesh transforms himself into Shiva, the cosmic dancer, a temple dancer mocking her divine lover, a lady unlucky in love using compositions historically performed by temple and court dancers to explore the myriad human emotions from a male perspective.
