In this workshop, participates will learn:
1) The connection between comprehensible input & Brain friendly instructions. Including how the brain's response to stressors, including boredom and frustration, reduce memory and result in the involuntary reactive behaviors of "act out" and "zone out." How the brain pays attention. We will be examining ways together to maximize and maintain student attention and focus with curiosity, prediction, and student-centered learning to stimulate motivation and understanding.
2) The theoretical concept as well as the actual practice of Teaching Comprehensible Input (TCI). Participates will be introduced to the core of TPRS - circling. Demo lessons will be shared, hands-on practice will be implemented.
3. How to boost students literacy and create confident, happy readers through color coded character reading technique, and how to create directional gestures to teach tones.
4. How to engage students through brain-friendly activities, meaningful and purposeful assignments.
