Event Details

We have reached 300 participants!  You may still sign up to be on the WAITLIST.  We are contacting waitlisted people as cancellations come in.  

Pre-medical students and their advisors are cordially invited to Touro University California, College of Osteopathic Medicine, on Mare Island in Vallejo, CA, to learn more about osteopathic medicine and meet representatives from osteopathic medical schools. 

Some of the osteopathic organizations and medical schools planning on attending include:

This event is hosted by the SOMA Chapter at Touro University California, College of Osteopathic Medicine and is FREE to all Pre-Med Students and Advisors!  

Participants will have the opportunity to:

*    Meet osteopathic medical school admission officers at our recruitment fair

*    Participate in an osteopathic manipulative medicine introductory workshop

*    Meet current medical students from various osteopathic schools

*    Ask medical students and admissions officers your questions

Driving Directions

Below are the directions to our campus from the nearest airports.  The building you are looking for is Lander Hall. 

 

From South of Vallejo:

From SFO Airport and San Francisco (1 hour & 15 minutes to the Campus):

Exiting the Airport, follow the signs to Highway 101 North toward San Francisco and the Bay Bridge/Oakland.  Cross over the Bay Bridge, stay in the left lanes, and exit at Highway I-80 East (Sacramento/Vallejo).  Pass Emeryville, Berkeley and Richmond, cross over the Carquinez Bridge and take the Tennessee Street/ Mare Island exit.  Turn right onto Tennessee Street and proceed until it enters Mare Island.  You will cross the blue drawbridge onto Mare Island and continue forward until you reach Azuar Drive (0.7 mile).  Turn left on Azuar Drive continuing straight to the roundabout (1.2 miles).  Enter the roundabout and exit at the 2nd right, continue straight.  Turn left at the fork and follow along to the first entrance – there is a sign for Touro University.  As you drive into the campus, you will find parking as you pass the library.  The building at the end of the road is Lander Hall, which is where conference activities will be held.  Check-in will take place in the lobby of Lander Hall. 

 

From Oakland Airport (1 hour to the Campus):

From the Golden Gate Bridge (1 hour to the Campus):

Cross the Golden Gate Bridge heading North on Highway 101, proceed past Mill Valley, Corte Madera, San Rafael, and Terra Linda to the Highway 37 (Vallejo) exit.  While on Highway 37 travel in the right lane and continue for approximately 15 minutes to the Mare Island exit.  Upon entering Mare Island follow Walnut Avenue to “G” Street.  At the STOP sign, turn right onto “G” Street.  At the STOP sign, turn left on Azuar Drive continuing straight to the roundabout (1.2 miles).  Enter the roundabout and exit at the 2nd right, continue straight.  Turn left at the fork and follow along to the first entrance – there is a sign for Touro University.  As you drive into the campus, you will find parking as you pass the library.  The building at the end of the road is Lander Hall, which is where conference activities will be held.  Check-in will take place in the lobby of Lander Hall. 

 

From North of Vallejo:

From Sacramento Airport (1 hour & 20 minutes to the Campus):

Exiting the airport, follow I-80 West to Vallejo.  Turn right onto Tennessee Street and proceed west until it ends at the Mare Island.  You will cross the blue drawbridge onto Mare Island and continue forward until you reach Azuar Drive (0.7 mile).  Turn left on Azuar Drive continuing straight to the roundabout (1.2 miles).  Enter the roundabout and exit at the 2nd right, continue straight.  Turn left at the fork and follow along to the first entrance – there is a sign for Touro University.  As you drive into the campus, you will find parking as you pass the library.  The building at the end of the road is Lander Hall, which is where conference activities will be held.  Check-in will take place in the lobby of Lander Hall.
