C.V.S.P.I.N., Inc. (Coachella Valley Serving People in Need) is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation organized to provide support to charities throughout the Coachella Valley, California.
CVSPIN was founded in 1999 by Tim Esser and his mother Fran to host the Tour de Palm Springs, a bicycle event featuring rides of 5, 10, 25, 56 and 100 miles, depending on the skill of the bicyclist. The initial event hosted more than 1,000 riders and raised more than $20,000 for various charities. Virtually every year the Tour de Palm Springs, continues to attract more riders and generate additional funds for charity. In 2011, the 11th Annual Tour raised more than $226,000 in support of more than 115 charities.
Faced with the ever increasing needs of charities in the Coachella Valley, the CVSPIN Board of Directors has decided to host additional events to broaden the money it raises in support of those organizations. Net proceeds from the Comedy Night at the Show will be used to benefit the 150 charities presently supported by CVSPIN with the vision that it grows into an annual event.
