As we tour the Urban Adamah plots, we will learn about the significance of the crops growing there in Torah and our Jewish heritage--How onions and their relatives have accompanied us and tracked our history from Egyptian idol worship to Roman gourmet exports, to the New York bagel; the culture war between wine and beer drinkers that shaped Jewish history; how a Jewish exile taught Americans that tomatoes are not poisonous, paving the way for pizza and ketchup, and much more.
The tour costs $5 in advance, $10 at the door.
As with every Urban Adamah event, please bring a canned good or make a $2 donation to our food bank when you arrive.
