Top Five Mistakes Audit Departments Make: The course identifies the top five mistakes that audit departments make and facilitates the discussion of same by reviewing eight supporting bullets for each mistake. Additionally, the participants are challenged with self assessment questions to determine whether or not their department could be making these mistakes. Also included are myths surrounding the internal audit practice itself. The session wraps up with an action plan development for each participant and bonus mistakes.
Building Performance Excellence: This course introduces the learning map concepts to enhance auditor morale and build a specific road map for each individual team member to succeed. Each participant will learn how and when to deliver feedback while linking performance to the established core competencies and expected results. The keys for difficult discussions will be revealed to ensure all performance related meetings are constructive and productive. Additionally, each participant will learn how to build and evaluate development plans and actively track learning to build a strong internal audit team.

Speaker Bio: After 21 years of working in Internal Audit profession in the financial services industry, Robert has started his own company which develops and facilitates custom internal audit training as well as evaluates, creates, and implements formal audit methodologies. Prior to starting his company, Robert was the Vice President of Internal Audit for the Penn Mutual Life Ins. Company. He is an active member of the IIA and has been a Distinguished Faculty Member for almost 20 years.
