It’s time to buy new tennis shoes and backpacks – but have you thought about what kind of gear your teenager may really need before heading back to school? What a teen wears or owns often plays a role in confidence, yet do the right jeans prepare them to successfully navigate the challenges in the hallways, the classrooms and at test time?
The best gift your child can receive as you help them to prepare for their future are the keys to a healthy MIND/ healthy practices to increase resiliency, improve self-image and confidence, and maximize study time...
How about resiliency – the ability to navigate difficult challenges without losing a sense of self, purpose or resolve?
Or mindfulness– learning how to bring real intention to thought and action….
Or how to distinguish assertiveness from aggression, or to practice compassion for self and others?
These and other tools of mental well-being and self-esteem will help your young adult now, into the next school year and beyond. At a free workshop this August, give your teen the time and the space to mentally prepare for the onslaught of school work, sports, volunteering and work.
We have found that students are more comfortable discussing these topics in groups with their own gender so we are providing separate workshops for girls and guys. This workshop on August 28 is for teenage boys. Please see this page to register for the August 26 workshop for teenage girls.
Parent of a teen? Please stick around for a special free program for parents at the same time, where you can network with others who are also helping their kids prepare for school and life.
