Join this interactive, up-close look into the mighty lives of ants.  Test your strength, make a craft, find live ants and more.

These 45 minute programs are specifically designed for children 2-5 with an adult.  No older children please.  Programs are held at 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. at Lookout Mountain Nature Center.  These programs are very popular, so reserve your space early. Participant limit: 15 children.


Registration for this program opens at 9:00 AM one month before the date of the program.  If you are registering after this time, but space is no longer available, please call Lookout Mountain Nature Center at 720-497-7600 to be placed on a waiting list.

 Look for exciting new changes!


Starting in June we will be making changes to the Toddler Times program. It will now be split into two classes:


Preschool Nature Nuts:

For ages 3 -5 years, held the 1st Thursday & 1stSaturday of each month.

Toddler Nature Nuts:

Just for 2 yr olds!  held the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Discover Jefferson County Open Space through natural and cultural history programs.

Naturalists and educators offer programs at Lookout Mountain Nature Center, Hiwan Museum, and other Jefferson County Open Space parks.

Jefferson County Open Space was founded as a land conservation organization in 1972. Its mission is to preserve land, protect park and natural resources, as well as provide healthy nature-based experiences. Funded with a one-half of one percent sales tax, the agency contributes to city and recreation district projects and manages 44,613 acres, 28 regional parks, and 230 miles of trails in Jefferson County, Colorado.
