Toastmasters Area C22 Spring Contest 2014

The World Champion of Public Speaking Contest will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia during the International Convention from August 20 to 23, 2014. Upon winning the District contest, the contestant will represent District 30 of Chicago, receiving a paid round-trip to Malaysia.
The Area Contest is the beginning of the journey.
All local contests are open to the general public. You do not have to be a member of the Metropolitan Club nor a current Toastmaster to attend. You have to be Toastmaster member to compete. All guests over 12 years old are welcome. If you are interested in self-improvement, communications and public speaking, please RSVP and join us.

Contest Master: Pres Vasilev* is a hometown champion for the Super Bowl of public speaking, representing Toastmasters District 30 in Chicago area. As a non native English speaker, he outspoke 33,000 contestants representing 122 countries. His humorous yet thought-provoking speech, Changed by A Tire, won him the title of World Champion of Public Speaking at the 2013 International Speech Contest at the Annual Convention. Get ready to laugh, listen and learn at the Toastmasters Area Contest for the Table Topic and International Speech. The winners will go on to the Division Level, then the District Level at the Spring Conference.

5:15 pm Debriefing (all contestants and functionary roles)

6:00 - 8:00 Contest
The gavel hits at 6:00 pm. Late arrival must wait outside the door and be escorted to the room when condition permits.
All volunteers, contestants and judges must register for head count.
Dress Code: Business Casual. No T-shirt and jeans. (unless it's your prop for your speech)
Guests of 12 years or older are welcome to attend. Each person must register separately. Public transportation is highly recommended.

Check the posted sign upon your arrival to the 66th floor. Please allocate extra time for the building security, elevator ride and room navigation. It is highly recommended that you arrive at the lobby 30 mins ahead. If you arrive while the meeting is in session, please observe the late arrival protocol: silent your smart phone, follow the sign posted on the door. Upon entry, take any empty seat immediately.
