Journey back for an honest look at America's past with the stage play "To Kill a Mockingbird," a dramatization of Harper Lee's book. The University of Saint Francis production provides a compelling look at justice and the human spirit through the eyes of a young gril learning the ambiguities and realities of adulthood.
Directed by Brad Beauchamp, the play examines the fundamental lessons of compassion, justice, integrity and courage. The production will run Fridays through Sundays, April 5-7 and 12-14, at the USF Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry St., Fort Wayne. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m. and Sunday shows are at 2 p.m.
Join USF School of Creative Arts assistant professor Aaron Willoughby, cast members, legal professionals and literary scholars for a panel discussion and talk-back session on the famous novel from which the stage play derives. Predominant themes and the work of bringing the story to the university's stage will be discussed after the final show on April 14.
Tickets can also be purchased through the box office. Admission is $15 for the general public and $12 for seniors and children under 10 years of age. Group discounts are available. Call the box office at 260-797-1699 for more information.
