Our Rotaract Club works with many organizations, both local and international. Recent projects included: the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County, COTS, the Sonoma County Regional Parks Department, the national MS Society, Polio Plus, Rebuilding Together, Petaluma Bounty, and local Rotary clubs. We can be found beautifying parks, volunteering at festivals, tutoring children, and helping other organizations with their fundraising efforts. We also have many international projects taking place in East Africa, Uganda. We have recently funded for a scholastic material distribution, a treated mosquito net distribution and a solar panel instillation project. One ongoing international project that we fund allows Millicent, a secondary school student with aspirations of becoming a nurse, to continue her educational goals in Uganda. We have also recently partnered with Petaluma Valley Rotary to build a safe house for orphaned students to create a protected and successful environment they can have year round.
Rotaract is a non-profit Rotary sponsored organization of young adults aged 18 to 30, whose purpose is to address the physical and social needs of their communities, to enhance the knowledge and skills to assist in personal development, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.
