Building on the success of the past two years, NYTimes.com is hosting another series of TimesOpen events.
In our fourth event of 2011, we'll be discussing social media and the technology it runs on. We have speaking: a social computing researcher, the technology lead at a social media startup, a leading designer/developer, and a strategic partnerships guy from Facebook. Each will talk about what they're currently working on, but the good part comes after, when they'll trade insights and answer audience questions in an open forum. Our participants:
- Jason Ellis, leads the Social Computing for the Next Billions project at IBM Research
- Nicole Valentine, Vice President for Product/Technology at Figment
- Cameron Koczon, consultant at Fictive Kin, co-organizer Brooklyn Beta web conference
- Andy Mitchell, Manager for Strategic Partnerships, Facebook
